If you are using this system (Arakawa hanging) I would like to know if you are happy with it and if not what are the drawbacks? I heard it is a little spendy but supposedly worth it. Comments appreciated.

We have sold and installed a couple Arakawa systems. At one time we had it in our gallery but have replaced it with a gallery rod system from United.

Arakawa looks great - very modern and clean. Installs easily and is easy to move/change. The downside we found was it caused the artwork to "tilt" out from the wall excessively. Tried moving hooks, tighter/looser wires, etc., but found the "tilt" look to be unacceptable. After the fact I think that using the floor anchors would have fixed the problem.

United's gallery rods look good, work well and are comparatively inexpensive. We use them in the gallery and have sold a few systems to our clients. I've come to like them better.

Hope that helps. I'd be happy to share more information if you need it - contact me directly if you've got more questions.

We have the Arakawa system, and my experience is like Tony's. The frames' tops tilt out from the wall, especially if you hang more than one frame per wire (we have 12 ft. ceilings here). One fix is to put a staple in the wall near the hanging point -- but that messes up the wall.

We still have the system in place, but if I were doing it again, I would choose a rigid support such as hanging rods. I've heard good things about the system United offers, but I didn't know about it when I bought Arakawa.

Any hanging system is better than perforating the walls with hooks, I think. It looks professional and makes for easy re-hanging, too.
