A customer has brought in a signed and dated stitchery, which I think should be appraised and have some conservation work done before framing. It has been a long time since I have had to do this, and I have lost my sources. Anyone's help will be appreciated.

Pamela, there is an antique sampler museum in Plymouth, Ma and I am sure, if they don't have their own conservator, they would know of one near you. I don't have a number, but you should be able to get them through the Chamber of Commerce in Plymouth. If you don't have any luck, let me know and I can call some local EGA Clients who have taken seminars down there and may have some phone numbers.

Hi Pam - Try the AIC's (American Institute for Conservation) referal service - you can reach their site , and the referals, at http://aic.stanford.edu/ - it has lots of good information on conservation topics as well.
