I know Larson has changed their postcard mailing service. More postcards to choose from in different sizes along with some other things. I was considering using them but I'm hesitant because of what someone said a long time ago. They're concern was that if you give Larson your mailing list you never know where it will go from there be it now or in the future.

Anyone used this service and do you have any thoughts on them having your mailing list?

will they supply just the postcards?

They supply the post cards, address them using your mailing list and send them for you. The fee is very reasonable too.

Just hope that your nearest competitor chooses a different card so the two of you don't mail the exact same one to folks. Or, if it happens, just hope that they are a good enough business that you don't mind being associated with them.

I think you should do your own thing rather than something that is available to everyone. Plus, if you look, the pricing really isn't all that great. Look harder and you'll find other options.

I would be much more concerned about the above scenario than LJ stealing your mailing list. IMO that is ridiculous, you may not agree with who they choose to do business with but thinking they would steal your list would put their behaviour at the criminal level.

You could probably get a local mom and pop print shop to do them just as cheap if not cheaper, and keep the money local. I have a local shop that I deal with and they are awesome, and I feel good help ing out another local business and when they need framing they come to me.

I used there postcards last month and they worked well. They don't have
Larson printed on them but they have picture with their frames on it. I didn't use my mailing list, I selected a zip code and sent them to household income's over 200k

would think that the lj IT would keep that on file for reference and advise us of same(certainly a 'doable' thing requiring little on their part)

Lynn? Any chance LJ is doing this? I could see this be a sword that cuts both ways. If I were to use LJ's stuff for a piece, I don't know that I would want them telling my competitor what I just used or who I mailed to.

Since there is an implied accusation in that post, don't you think that question could be handled privately, especially if you don't have any evidence.

I do send out postcards to my mailing list 4 times a year. I was just wondering if anyone else had used them and what they thought about it. It would just save me alot of time to have them do it and their postcards are nice looking.

I am NOT accusing any company of stealing mailing lists and I don't know why you would think that. Someone else mentioned to me about keeping your mailing list private, something I hadn't given any thought to until it was mentioned.

I'm just asking a simple question.

Methinks you're jumping the gun a little here Pat. I wasn't implying anything. Bill (the post above mine) mentioned that he felt LJ would keep track of that and advise us, so that's what I was referencing. I don't know what LJ's policy is (which is why I asked Lynn) and am not implying that they do one thing or another. Sorry if anyone interpreted it that way because it certainly wasn't intended.
