I come from a woodworking background and miter boxes are very common in box making. do you guy ever use miter boxes for framing. I have a garage setup and don't have a permanent setup for my miter saw and other equipment. A miter box is very convenient, and can be very accurate if you have the right one. Which bring up the question if you do use one is there any recommendation for one.

I have a couple of Nobex mitre saws which are very accurate and easy to use.

I have always wondered how good these metal miter boxes were.

I occasionally use a mitre box after hours for strainer bars.

I would love a non powered version, but I have not put in the effort to explore that option.

You would likely want a rabbet support.
Either an adjustable one, or a series or strips of wood at different heights.

This one is accurate to 0.08 degrees, made in Sweden. Works fantastically well, also very good for high gloss frames, no cracking of the coating. And of course great for cutting aluminum frames too.

You do not need rabbet supports as there are two front clamps that hold the molding against the back fence. Attached is a better pic showing more detail.

I have both this one and the larger Champion model. This smaller saw also has available a Measuring system for frames. Not sure if they are still available but if not you can easily make your own.

lee Valley is out of stock until November on the large saw.
