I am looking for a art / paper document conservator to refer customers to. I have had several requests lately for this type of service. I have, on occasion referred customers to OLD WORLD RESTORATIONS in Ohio, but the customers would rather have someone closer. Any ideas? Thanks, Chuck T.

I took a look at my AIC directory, and there are some members who subscribe to the book and paper group, but I don't know any of them. This is not suprising however, as I don't know anyone in Michigan.
Wally's idea of the AIC referal service is a good one.
Also, you can call your local (or reasonably local) art gallery, museum or major library (special collections dept) and ask them who they use, or if there are any local paper conservators who they recommend. Or the state ones.
Once you get some names, call them and, in a friendly manner, ask for their background etc. That should give you some idea of whether you'd like to give them a try.
