Just realized I don't have any of profiles 22, 50 & 71.
Plenty of others, but I like these and am thinking of
getting some. For those of you who do have them,
any comments? I noticed in my Neilsen specifier there's
a typo saying 22 is 13/32" tall, when it looks like an inch
or more. When you design with it, how big do you feel
comfortable going? Any problems with front gaps? Thanks.

I have the 71 profile but rarely use them, I use the 95 profile more, but when I do use it I don't have any problems and can go quite large with them. I don't have the 22 profile and the 50 isn't in the 2012 specifier anymore.

I sell so little metal that I can't really comment. I just sold my first metal frame last week from the new gallery and we've been here nine months. Of course, I haven't brought over most of my metal samples from the old gallery yet.

I guess I'm just a wood snob.

Dave, you might at least stock the Nielsen Gilded line. Love 'em.

As mentioned, #50 is discontinued. Never had any problems using the others, although I have to say I rarely use them anymore. I think they feel dated. Sometimes you need that thickness capacity, but I guess I usually use wood in situations like that, unless metal is specifically requested. #117 will accommodate items stretched on a low-profile stretcher bar, and I think it looks more elegant than the older styles.
 Rick

Only some of the gilded line was discontinued. Not everything. Something about the finishing company on some of the profiles went belly up

#22 is about as old as they get. Been around more than 30 years for canvas and is basically #11 deep enough for 1 1/4" canvas.

does that line exist anymore?

ish....

Some were disco'd, but others are still good. And we have
a couple regional suppliers with plenty of stock even on the
disco'd ones. That happens when everybody pulls their samples,
at the announcement, so if I really like a moulding, sometimes
it's still 'good' for me for a couple more years, by drawing from
their stock.

Jeff, that's what it looks like to me, and I really like the idea.
I love the 34 profile for it's narrow front look, but 22 is so
much sturdier and had somehow slipped by me.
