I have a designer client who needs 500-100 "antique looking" plaques 1/2 x 4 with one line text in cursive. Her words:
One other thing our client is hoping for is the appearance of brads or nail heads to also make it look old. Our product team really doesn’t want to have to nail each plaque in place (they would prefer the peal n’ stick version) but is there anyway to get “faux-nails” added to each size?

We’ve been having a hard time finding the right look for these plaques (all the samples we’ve receive so far look too industrial)

I have called all over town. Any supplier suggestions? Its the antique nail hole (filled) which is the tricky bit.

Thanks!

A fast stipple and bump routine with Guilder's Paste and four dots of Antique Bronzing guilt with a thickening agent mixed so it stays a little rounded head.

When you get a plaque that suits but doesn't have nails stick it in place with the tape that comes with it and then drill and push in a small nail after it's in place. Don't measure for the drill position just eyeball it and it will look a little random and old. Small nails are available from online hardware suppliers like Lee Valley:

I use these guys for all my 'engraving' chores---just around the 'corner', nice to work with, has LOTS of our type of stuff, has 2 (maybee 3 by now) lazers to do the job...good prices
