Another CMC question

"Yes" to oval and circle V-grooves and open V-grooves. And just about any other shape your heart could desire.

Was that what you were asking?

Clive.

Not sure what a "French Groove" is. My Wizard only cuts in English but it can handle V grooves in most shapes I can dream up.

What you don't have an Aussie Groove template?

You want French? OK:

Oui, un magicien 8000 a coupé une cannelure d'ovale ou de Français de cercle. :)

This is what I've always thought a French Groove was:

If you meant v-groove, yes, it can. Let's say you are doing an oval opening, with an oval groove. First, you enter your opening size and mat border sizes. Then click on the template design box to choose your oval template, and click OK. This takes you into the design screen, where you will see your oval opening.

Now click on "add v-groove opening" and enter your offset distance. You should now have a rectangular v-groove around your oval opening. Double click on the v-groove. There should appear a box on the left entitled "Options." In that box, there should be the template design number for the v-groove, with a button that says "Change." Click on that button, and you can select any v-groove you like. Using the other parts of that Options box and the parameters tab (see it?), you can alter the shape and characteristics of the v-groove. Play around with it. Have fun.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I have called v-grooves by french cut for years. Don't have any idea where I got that name. Need to get away from that term.

I have spent the last two hours in mat designer. Guess that is what I should have done before I asked the question.

Now I know how to design a "v-groove" in all different shapes.

I still like Daves post. :icon9:

Thanks again
;)
