....and you thought WD-40 was just for squeaky hinges...

FF ,I also have heard that spraying WD-40 on artritic Joints in our anatomy will losen them up a bit.
Not for the obvious LUBRICATEING propeties but due to an Enzyme that it contains that will ease the stiffness in our bones.
However I've never tried it ,but I do some who have. But then maybe it just psycological.

Years ago I had a storage space that I rented and was having trouble with getting the key in the padlock, so the next time I went there I took along some WD40 and sprayed it in the lock. It opened real easy, unfortunately it wasn't my lock.. or my space. I imagine my surprise when I opened the door expecting to see my stuff and there was a motorcycle!

I think Hanna was worried about my home remedy. But when you have worked inside an Oil refinery for 19years ,being spritzed witha bit of HydroCarbons isn't anything new or frightening.
Although the problem with contaminateing some perfectly good coke that just happened to be on the seat of a public conveience, does intimadate even a Refinery rat like myself.LOL
Ruth if that really happened and it was caused by the WD-40 ,I can see a bunch of thievs running out to buy WD-40 by the Pallet lots.LOL

1) Not true. It loosens NOTHING, not even Ruth's lock. There is a small amount of banana oil in the blend, but within 2-5 days is gone. Then it starts collecting dust like a huge maginet.

2) The "active" ingrediant is DMSO, also the active ingrediant in several Horse Liniments, such as Red Rider, EquinHeat, and HotPack. This is what is "easing" the arthritus pain.

3) DMSO is a "solvent" and is used in WD-40 (Water Dispersing agent formula #40), as a drying agent when sprayed on and in Marine Machinery. It literally is to drive out the moisture. Guess what it does to your skin . . .

A few years ago, my good friend Dick Widdon, who was one of the team leaders inventing this product for the marine industry, returned to the 40 year celebration. Only two people in the organization knew who he was.

Oh, almost forgot. It's the DMSO that clots the cocain. (Drives out the moisture which causes the oils to coagulate.

All I know is a can of WD40 and a BIC lighter make a neat, effective, albeit short-range flame thrower.

Hanna, what good can it possibly be if it doesn't have toxic ingredients?? It's just no fun without toxic ingrdients.

And Baer, on your last 'Oh, almost forgot.', email me and I'll tell you a REAL drives out the moisture story concerning silica gel in 1/4 lb packs.
