I am framing several antique Chinese disks ... evidently they were used as money a loooooong time ago ... they are made of various kinds of stone, are about 8" in diameter, 1/2" thick, have a hole in the center, and are quite heavy.
One of them has a rusty surface (perhaps the stome contains some ferrous compound).
I am wondering if anyone has mounted these before, or has thoughts on the best way of mounting them.
My thoughts include:
(1) sink mat,
(2) some kind of acryllic hook or rod though the central hole to support the weight,
(3) very strong glue (gorilla?) ... customer does not object to glue
Ideally the customer would like them floated up from the backing mat.
Appreciate your thoughts & comments
