NL: What is floating?

DL: If I wanted to be flippant and #### off a lot of people I’d say it’s a way cheap people try to get out of using mats.

I'm inferring from this that you don't put mats (or liners) on float mounted art. Is that true? If so, are those design features you find incompatible?
