If you read my desperate plea for articulated corners, you know about the little problem I experienced this week.
On Tuesday I took an order for an octagonal metal frame. By the end of that day I had talked my favorite supplier (NEW YORK FRAME!) into cutting it for me. Then, with the Decor Sources in my hands, phoned around trying to find anyone who even carried the corners.
No luck until I called AMS, Art Materials Service, in New Jersey. Good news: they had the corners; bad news: minimum order is $100. I guess I then told the nice man that "Gosh, I only need 8!" I told him I was sure I could work up a proper order and to please send me a catalog.
Well folks, that catalog arrived today, and in the bottom of the envelope was a little bag WITH EIGHT CORNERS!!!!!!!!!!!
Now that simple little act is one huge lesson in how to knock the socks off of your potential customers. Give 'em MORE than they ever dream is possible and they will be yours for life.
And to make the day even more memorable, I had to phone Appleton to tell Ron that he didn't have to go to the post office after all!
