I'm having an issue with my ITW-AMP VN2+1 v-nailer. It joins just fine, but then the upper clamp (the one that raises and lowers on the two vertical chrome posts), rises very slowly, rather than jumping back up as usual.
Any idea what's going on and how to deal with it?

P.S. This happens only after actually driving a nail. If I just half-press the pedal to clamp, then let it back up without driving a nail, it's fine.

Actually, I did that just about a week ago. It was fine until today.
This morning I got on a cleaning mission and decided to tilt the machine up to vacuum away the collection of dried glue scrapings from underneath it. Do you think i could have knocked something out of kilter?

I had something similar happen with my old Casesse...ended up needing to replace the foot pedal. The release valve had gone bad and since it was built into the foot pedal, I had to buy a new one. Food for thought.

Vince at ITW-AMP helped me diagnose the problem: a faulty Soft Clamp Regulator. Have ordered a replacement part.

Update: Part arrived today (next day, w. regular UPS shipping). I have installed it, and everything is working great. Thanks again to Vince at ITW-AMP for always courteous and helpful phone assistance.

Funny Rick, Mine did the same thing 2 months ago. Lucky for me a bit of lube in the line took care of the problem.
