I have a collection of Cornel's fantastic frames. I display them in one of those glass display cases you see used as counters in jewlery stores. The other day I noticed a problem with the finishes on a few of them. I sent Cornel an e-mail about it. Bear in mind I purchased these frames more than a while back. Cornel thinks it might be silverfish causing the problem. He did not bat an eye and is sending out replacements for all of them, gratis.

Cornel does business the way all of us should, he is not concerned about who's fault it is, he just wants to keep his customers happy.

This is, without a doubt, a totally unabashed plug for American Choice Frames. Cornel makes about the finest ready mades you could stock, and apparently, he stands behind every one of them.

If you do not know who I am talking about, he is "Why Not" on The Grumble forum.

If you have never seen his product, and you would like to carry a line of ready mades or custom that you would never see in an Aaron Brothers or some such thing, call him up and order just one. You will be hooked as soon as you see it. You could also just send him a Grumble private message.

Spectacular

Wow, Cornel's line is absolutely exquisite. Thanks for sharing. I have a new resource to offer my customers.

If he has a booth at WCAF, it's a must-stop for me. I've heard enough glowing recommendations, I wanna see it up front and personal.

Awww his stuff blows and you all know it ;)

Honestly tho I must agree with those voicing their opinions in favor of AC frames. When I was lucky enough to sell his frames they were always perfect.

And I have to put in a personal plug for Cornel and his son, Timmis, they are very nice people who have been prejudged and mis-understood for many years on this forum. Cornel has always been so very friendly and cordial to me and I always cringe when I see someone, who has never met the man, dump on him or his products.

Cornel has a difficult time phrasing some of his thoughts in our language and, as a result, comes off somewhat sarcastic or rude to those who do not know what he is like. His son told me that his Dad slaves for hours sometimes simply to get his diction down correctly so his posts don't sound arrogant. I wonder how many other Grumblers would spend that much time to relay a thought or make a point to someone else??

Good job, Cornel, and all the best to you. (I'll guarantee that, once you shake hands with Cornel, you will NEVER forget the man!! He has hands like a Virginia ham!!);)

I stopped at Cornel's booth last year. His frames are like butter! Smooth and creamy! You want to just run your hands over them!

One of these days i am going to have enough cash flow to lay enough some stock!

I haven't forgot Cornel, it just takes time!

Not to rain on the parade, but he does have a minimum (10 frames I believe).
The real problem, as I see it, is actually making a selection. None, no not one, of the designs are easily discarded. The entire line is redolent of craftsmanship, quality, beauty and charm. He should get Ricardo Montalban to do his voice-overs;-)

As a framer or businessman (perhaps both, or is that an oxymoron?) you owe it to yourself to see the line and meet the man. In this ever increasingly homogenized world he and his product live in rarefied air.

I have never seen Cornel's frames in person but I drool over them on his website. W - O - W. Simply amazing.

And, has anyone else noticed this? Cornel's use of the English language on this forum has improved by veritable leaps and bounds in the past few years. :)

Shouldn't this be moved to the COMMERCIAL POST section?

This forum is just fine for complimenting a supplier - Cornel did not start it.

Testimonial vs. solicitation. Cornel hasn't participated in the thread, and depending on whether he does and how he does will determine if any lines have been crossed.

Yea this is more of a "Kudos" post.

If it was from the vendor, then yea :)

I see no problem with this thread, where it is.

What in the world would be wrong with comments from Cornel? Where does the presumption that he might cross a "line" come from? Suppliers that have been dissed in this forum have answered, too, both to complain or to accept the criticism. This is after all, "The Grumble".

There was no presumption in my comment. I think there was a bit more read into it than was there. I was supporting your position.

I'm so glad you told us this. I have to admit I have thought Cornel was a bit sarcastic when he writes to the Grumble. It can be difficult to interpret e-mails from anyone and I've misjudged Cornel's personality.

Thank you for opening my mind.

I have a few customers who have his frames on display. I have viewed a good amount of finished corner frames, but he has something different. They look great and stand out compaired to the others. I have yet to see anything framed in one of his frames. My loss.

I have told a few customers about his line. There is something different and very unique that he does.

Very nice website! I felt like I was at home (which is rare these days) and didn't want to leave the site. Well there are a few things to frame for Christmas....

I didn't see a price list. Any idea of what a photo frame might be priced at?

Susan

Give Cornel a call or email and he will happily go through his frame selections and prices with you. Talking with him is a delight.

I have some of his frames in my shop for sale. I drool over them myself. I really can't wait to sell the first one! Hopefully soon before they start disappearing here and showing up in my home.

Timmis and Cornel are wonderful to work with.

No I think you've got him right. He is an ornery opinionated bastad but that just makes him loveable and cuddly. His true character comes through in his frames.

I always loved his frames but I didn't realize that Cornel had a booth at WCAF.

I will definitely stop by this time.

Me too. And I like Cornell's comments. He is thinking about our industry a lot and I appreciate that in a supplier.

You, people, I haven't died yet. Don't waste all your eulogies on me right now, and save some for the appropriate occasion. And, as I'm not particularly anxious to get off the buss, you need to be patient and endure my posts for a bit longer :)

God willing, in January I'll be in "Sin City" with my son, Timis, waiting for you by our booth (placed next to Marty Horowitz's Goldleaf Framemakers of Santa Fe and APF-Munn). That entire area promises to be a dangerous field of concentrated compulsive buying radiations and, honestly, in order to resist it you must arm yourself with no soul, no eyes, no pens, no credit cards, no phone numbers, no business cards, no English... ;)

Oh my, that's the drool aisle. Framers' porn. Now I know where to find you!

Oh great! Now he's bringing Timmis..... jeez now we have to have another person to like. Where's the relief.. I don't want to hear about Timmis.. Tell me that you're bringing the Romanian Rose back again.... I ache for her smile.

Tell us the GOOD news.... not about some other gruffy big teddy bear... :D

Sunday evening, my friend, maybe we share a drink.
