Question aluminum frame

The narrowest sectional aluminum frame I've seen is Nielsen's 33 series with a 3/16" face. I really don't know if they make it any more.
You can get narrower custom welded aluminum frames from folks like SmallCorp or A Street Frames. These are designed for minimum framing on original paintings on canvas and couldn't be used for items that require glazing.

Nielsen makes a floater series -- #34, that is 3/16 across the face, but it's for canvas art.

Does the customer have any advice as to how a frame that is 1/16th across the face will hold the glass in? Could you just draw a thin rectangle around the art with a pen, and hand it back to the customer?

The aluminum itself is that thick. How could they make a frame like that?

Tell them that what they are looking for is physically impossible as a frame.

If they want a floater frame then nail a piece of extruded aluminum to the sides of the painting.

Do they even know how big 1/16" is? Seriously, alot of people do not know how to read a ruler.

What is the piece being framed? If it is a stretched canvas a metal strip can be fastened to the side otherwise no luck. Nobody can help you without your feedback.
