I have a customer who needs a shiny gold frame, similar in size and shape to this LJ frame.

It is #203235 and it has a dull gold wash with fly specks on the top. Under this overcoat lies some sort of shiny gold leaf-like material, which would be perfect to match my customer's existing frame.

I used a bit of acetone to remove an inch of the finish on the edge of the sample, but I need to know what would work more evenly and safely.

Or can anyone tell me where to find the 3/4" profile in shiny?

Thanks.

I tried the Liberon superfine steel wool and since the frame surface is kinda lumpy it takes some areas down to the bole.

Grrrrr.......

Then try the acetone, working small areas at a time. You could also finish the frame with acrylic paint to match the gold color and then coat with gloss finish.
