I am looking for a matboard with something that looks close to alligator skin as a pattern on it. I don't know if any of the matboard companies that I don't deal with have anything like this so I am throwing this out to Grumbleland in hopes that somebody can cut down my search time for me.

Any ideas, hints, websites, etc. (I don't do gator wrapped mats so that is out from the get go!!) :eek:

What a cool idea faux gator matboard would be. It would remind me of my new watchband.
I read that gator is popular again in fashion accessories.

Maybe Queen City would have something.

I hope you find some.
 
I hope your customer isn't a University of Florida graduate framing a diploma!

Tom, you might look at places like Tuesday Morning or Party City for wrapping paper that emulates alligator skin. You can drymount it onto whatever substrate or matboard you want and have a pretty valid-looking product.

As an aside, is there a specific reason you don't like wrapped mats? If you drymount fabric onto matboard, you can then cut the mat just like a normal one.

Just a lil' thought.

I LOVE to do wrapped mats!! My point to that particular post was getting the raw materials!!

This ol' dog ain't goin' out in no dark dank swamp lookin' for no toothy 'gator for some wrapping material!!

Crescent had (or had) a few matboards with patterns similiar to gator skin. Suggest calling your rep.
