Instead of printing new price lists, my local supplier got the great idea to make an easily update-able PDF file. I was so happy!

Unfortunately, even though I have downloaded this to my hard drive, it keeps "hanging up" after I scroll through even one page. This is driving me nuts. Sometimes I can scroll really fast and manage to get within a page or two of the items I am seeking, but then I have to wait for five minutes before it allows me to move within the document.

I have been reading the Adobe support forum and a number of complex fixes have been suggested but apparently with only varying degrees of success.

Anyone else run into this?

So annoying!

Maybe the file is corrupted. I'd try deleting it and download it again.

I finally had to delete Adobe entirely: it would freeze in updates and never finish. Am now using Foxit (I think that's it) and it's a really good substitute.

I was so used to Adobe that I thought I had to have it to read pdfs but not true happily.

Lots of people seem to be experiencing this problem with Adobe and they report a variety of Windows machines from XP to the latest 64 bit Windows 8. So I don't think it could be my little price list file.

Can an Adobe PDF be read by other kinds of readers? I never knew there were other readers. :icon11:

I've seen this when opening a PDF in a browser. Try copying the PDF to your desktop or documents folder and open from there.

Try to save it to your computer and open with PhotoShop

I did change one option to "Read entire document" from the default "Read one page" but it is still lagging horribly.

Just thought of something - when they created this document they allowed for eventual expansion by including 144 pages. But the actual doc is only 86 pages long. Maybe I should tell the guy who made it to try again with only 86 pages?

But then again, how can it be experiencing such a problem loading entirely blank pages????

There is an Adobe Acrobat cleanup utility provided by Adobe. Run that and it will remove all parts of Acrobat, then you can install the newest version and see what happens.

Is anyone else having trouble with the same file? Exporting a PDF is easy to mess up if you start playing with settings, what program is it created in?

1. Not having any problems with any of Larry's manuals.

2. Tried to open from Photoshop and was presented with a view of 144 blank pages.

3. "Saved" it from the original email. Nada - still hangs up.

4. "Saved as" from original email - still hangs up.

5. ROWLBAZZLE!!!
