With more and more of us taking (and have tooken) the plunge into large format printing I think adding the word "Printer's" to this forum would be time appropo!

Anyway, I digress. Why does my 9600 use 62" of paper when I am printing a 24 x 36 print on 44" paper??? No matter what I do I just can't figure this out. Same problem with other rolls and sizes. What am I doing wrong?? Tried settings of all kinds. Got to be stupid simple. I'm wasting to much paper. Or is this normal. :(

Set the roll width, check auto rotate, then click on paper size and tell it the size. In paper size you make the width 44" and the height 24.5". Tell it to center the print and the finished product with auto cut on will be 25.5" x 44". with the print in the center. I also preview my images by checking the box so there are no mistakes.

Do you have Auto Cut turned on? If you have it set at "Roll don't cut" it will give you a long lead for cutting. This wastes a lot of paper. Since some papers can not be cut by the auto cutter you might find that cutting those papers to length will reduce your waste.

I always catch my prints when it cuts since I can hear when the cutting cycle is beginning. I just head toward the printer when the cycle begins but printing for me is not all day but fairly intermittent.
