Here`s one..... ALL Decoart metallic s and some primary red....No leafing involved. Old refinished wooden frame 11x14. L Jul 2012 003 - Copy.JPG

Very cool!
I use acrylics for painting gold bevels on mats and for touching up frames or toning finishes, dry brushing, etc.
Never really did a whole frame from scratch with it.
Do you seal the finish with wax or spray or ?

Jul 2012 005 - Copy.JPG Triple thick brush on clearcoat.Sometimes I will use colored paste wax on top of all this for various effects. BTW "panel lines" were done with a razor blade.... Indoor shot of same frame..ignore the avalanche of desk carp.......L

Thanks for the info.
It really looks like it's been gilded with leaf.

Awesome job! I agree that it looks like it has been gilded with gold leaf. Thanks for sharing.

I do a lot of stuff with a similar process. OK, you can't get quite the same bling as water gilding, but on the other hand you don't always want it. :p

I do oil-gilding leaf lines by laying tape across and brushing up the the edge. Or use a thin brush for faux water-gilded lap lines.
