Hello,

I am the new proud owner of an old (really ancient looking) Seal heat Press. I do not see any serial numbers anywhere. I looks to be in good shape-just a few cobwebs. It is rather small-15"wide by 19" deep.

So where do I start? Does anyone have suggestions on finding a manual? What would be the best reading source on heat mounting? I did at one time own the Chris P. book but I gave it away thinking that I would never own a heat press!

We have a wonderful cold vacuum press by Print Mount that we love. It has served most of our needs for twenty years. It has a few limitations, so I think that this will Seal Press will add to our shop.

Can anyone suggest their favorite mounting products to use with this type of press? My Larson Juhl rep gladly said that she would provide me with samples of different products. I just have no clue what's out there and what to stay away from.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Google it!

That's how I have found so many manuals that I need to equip. And help for car probs (saabnet is good), hang up telephone calls (whocalled.us), and how to make your own biodeisel!

Susan, it sounds like you have the same heat press I do. I got my manual cheaply off eBay. The guy had original manuals and made clear copies to sell. Just search for Seal heat press manual. You might have the Jumbo model.

You might try Hunt Tech Support. Hunt bought out Seal some time ago. I found their tech support to be extremely helpful, especially Wendy Harris (if she still works there). It's been awhile since I called.

Good luck.

...and now it's Elmers!

Sherri Wingler is my contact. She recently sent me a manual for my Seal 500T.

She was also invaluable when I had problems with the upgrade kit from 500T to the 500TX. Say "Hi" to her for me.

Thanks Clive and Amy,

I called Sherri and she should be able to offer some help. It seems as if Wendy works with Sherri.

Deacons Bench, I did see the manual on ebay. I don't know which model that I have, but the Tech Service at Elmers/Bienfang/Seal/Hunt... should be able to identify it for me. Thanks for giving me the idea to check on ebay.

Bob, I did Google it, but I really didn't see a whole lot come up. Thanks.

Susan
