I don't have an AB within 400 miles of my store so it is no big deal to me. I do how ever watch what they are doing for ideas.

BTW I have offered digital printing for years so maybe they have been watching me too :)

It certainly makes sense. Of course, Staples, Office Depot and Kinkos are already competing in this arena and are getting the business customers, which would seem to be the prime piece of the market.

Their concept is one stop shopping, bring your media card from your camera, and pick up your finished framed photo.

I can print a 16x20 in about 8 minutes.

At christmas time, I had a client that brought in her camera (she didn't know how to get the SD card out of it) I opened the file, made the print, designed the framing and a couple of days later she picked up the finished framed photo.

I don't know if AB is planning on while you wait printing but it sounds like they are going with selfserve kiosks.

Who do they think they are trying to steal our idea.

But can they add a custom engraved brass plate to the order?

Heck, they can't even tell a potential customer if they have Roma frames! (I hope they give that girl a raise, by the way, because she's been great for business...my business!)

Take It!

Every Grumbler should fill out the on-line survey form that Dave mentioned.

It would be great if one of us won the $500.00 "shopping spree". I would probably get some paint, brushes, a few ready mades, and oh yeah, a couple of boxes of "masterpiece glass".

What would you pick?
