The thread about our suppliers giving the lucky few occasionally chocolates, candy or whatever, gave me some food for thought:

Why can't we buy some really decent chocolate (sorry, definitely not Hershey's!!! Swiss, Belgian but not Hershey's!! Some indie chocolate makers are also very good) and give the same to our customers??

I am certain some customers,.especially ladies, and most certainly everybody else who appreciates good chocolate (who doesn't??) might come back to frame faster than usual!!

One can get some very good choco truffles, for example, for like $20! It doesn't have to be 2 lbs by the way. Just a a few good chocolates.

Now that's thinking outside the box of chocolates Paul.

I may have to upgrade our candy dish. We generally fill it with Hershey's (sorry) Dark Kisses. Love the name. A dark kiss will get the imagination going!

Trouble is there is a direct correlation between the amount of money spent and the number of kisses eaten and it ain't in the good way. Many people eat them and don't spend a dime!

You might want to keep those fancy chocolates out of reach and only offer them to a select few. They spend $300, they get 3 chocolates. They want another, they better upgrade to a couple of fabric mats or that fancy glass......what's it called..... Masterpiece or something like that.

Doug:

I didn't mean those fancy babies sitting on the counter! I don't want my freeloading neighbors gorging on those!!

When a customer picks up, they get what they deserve, in a nice package with a thank you note.

Oh. Nevermind. I thought you had lost your mind. Good idea!

I give my very best customers a small box of Gylslain Chocolates out of Indiana, for Xmas. They are handpainted, and oh so good. But I couldnt afford to give them out on a regular basis. They are not inexpensive. I have a good customer that makes this puff peppermint. It is crunchy until you bite down on it, and then it just melts in your mouth. I bought them from her wholesale, and kept a dish at the counter. I had customers have me order bags for them because you couldnt get them locally. Cant get them anymore. They shut their doors.
