I need to find two pieces of antique glass - you know, the kind that is bubbled and rippled - size 20 x 24. Can anyone help? :( I put museum glass on two antique prints and when the customer picked them up, they wanted the old glass back. I told them I'd look for it and they could pick it up with the new order they had just left with me. I've looked everywhere (I learned a long time ago not to throw away anything that belongs to the customer) but it's just not here.

I'll have to confess; but I'd like to be able to replace for them.

Do they use storm windows in Alabama? I suppose not.

Any window glass that is sufficently old and crappy should be close.

Good luck with your search Sue. I may have a piece in the store, not sure, but will have a look tomorrow.

I heard that antique glass is hard to cut with the glass cutter. So be careful when you find some.

Try a stained glass supply place. They make hand-rolled glass called "antique glass" that looks just like the real old stuff.

Thanks, guys! Sometimes I can get myself so upset, my brain ceases to function. I'll get on the phone to the antique stores tomorrow - I wish that Ebay auction was closer or they would ship!

stain glass supply will have just what you want.

Val, I don't think anyone east of the Great Basin is listening or give a sheet. Some days it's a real pane in the glass. :D

Here, maybe they'll hear this:

STAINED GLASS SHOP! EASY ONE!!! STAINED GLASS SHOP! LOOKS LIKE THE REAL THING, BUT PROBABLY CHEAPER!!! PROBABLY EVEN IN STOCK, YOU"LL GET IT REALLY FAST!!

There's gotta be one close by, in the phone book...

STAINED GLASS SUPPLIES!!!

There. Think they heard that?? Geeze.

Maybe they'll listen if someone on this side of the Mississppi says it...Stained glass shop.
Ask for hand rolled clear antique.
Oh, and it cuts like butter.

Thanks, everyone! Stain glass shop? Closest one is Atlanta, 2 hours away. I'll check with them, too. I am listening!

 ;) :D

I know just what you mean. It happened to me the other day when I was trying to figure out some paperwork for a multiple order, and the customer was watching me like a hawk.

My co-worker reassured me and said it was a full moon.

Sorry to come to the thread after you have gotten the answer you needed Sue ( Val and Deb's stained glass studio or supplier)

I am amazed that you need to go so far to find one. Around here ( I guess I am east of the Great Basin?)there are lots of them.

In fact I used the clear antique stuff to mount( Horrors !I used Silicone outside the frames. But it held nicely to the frame and glass.LOL) a smaller framed work of a fish on which was a semi-shadow box with beach Grass and a lure mounted in the shadow box.
I actually got the Design Idea from a Cross stitch designer who did their own framing of a LOON in the same way ( I am not sure but think they were called "Crossed Wings collection" or something similar, but they were very helpful and they were on the east coast )
