I just got a mailing from United Mfrs. In this sale catalog, there is a product for displaying sports memorabilia that I have never tried, called "3D Presentation Display Kits." Has anyone ever tried this product? Is the quality ok? Is it fairly simple to use? I have used acrylic from Superior, but I have a customer looking for a low cost alternative for framing a baseball and certificate for his child. Also he wanted something easily removed. Superior is "superior" but shipping to the east coast would probably be more than the product.

Any thoughts on this product would be appreciated.

That is one of the neatest and fastest ways to mount & frame a ball. It can be easily removed if you fix the back with turnbuttons. They're made for most sports balls.

These acrylic mounts are molded into a flat sheet, which is large enough to serve as glazing over a frame that includes a few photos, cards or other flat items.

Thanks Jim,

I was hoping that someone would give some input. I appreciated your reply. I just didn't want to order this and have it come in looking like I bought it at K-Mart. Anyone else try this product? (page six of the new red 95 years supplement from United)

Thanks again. Susan

We have used them for baseballs with great pleasure.

This is another of those "Man, I'm glad someone thought of this idea"

I rank it right up there with Attach-EZ in time savings.

Jim-I am not sure (I'll check with the framers)but I think we do not use the backplate-just the dome

As Bob said, there are two pieces to each ball mount -- the molded ball dome and the back plate, which has a hole to fit the molded piece; it provides the glazing. I consider the assembly as one piece because I always use the dome and back plate together, so the mat background is covered.
