Get The Picture
This is a close-out special. Most CompUSA stores have many of these still in stock, and they're blowing them out for $199 this weekend.

This PC does not include a monitor, and is suitable for replacing an old POS terminal. It's not a speed demon or for gaming use. If using it with visualization, I suggest upgrading the memory to 1GB. Note that this is available at stores only, and not the website - although Im providing a link to the web site so you can look at the pictures and specs.

<strike>CompUSA has the Presario sr1710nx Minitower which comes with AMD Sempron 3400+ 2GHz Processor, 256MB RAM, 100GB Hard Drive, 16X DVD / 48X32X48 CD-RW Combo Drive, and Windows XP Home Edition for only $199.99 after rebate. (Was $419)
</strike>
Price : $419 -$170 instant discount at register, -$50 mail in rebate = $199.99

Thanks Mike,

The local store has 5 of them so I'm going over to pick one up today.

Mike:

That's a very good deal / PC!

But didn't you, many moons ago, say you didn't like AMD processor... ;) ?? Or was it someone else?

I hate the mail-in-coupons scams though.

I'm not a big fan of AMD, but its good enough for a POS. The AMDs used to have some compatability issues many years ago, but it's no longer the case. I personally like to pay a bit more for an Intel Pentium chip, but that's just me. The computer above is certainly capable and affordable.

Mike:

I think the days of my buying Intel are over. I am in the process of customizing a PC (home use) which has a dual-core CPU with 2 Gigs of RAM and the latest nVidia video card (7900 GT). Great for gaming.... ;)

This will be a screamer! (I am sure someone will post this on the Warped under: Things that sound dirty...but are not, LOL).

Well I guess there is a reason they're know as CompUseless. I called & they told me they had 5 units. I went to the store & they told me that there computer said they were at -3. ARRGGGGHHHHH
