Feeling good about this one, too. I know my designs are simple, but I like them. Thanks for looking.

Nurre Caxton frame, Larson Juhl Fillet, and the outer mat is silk.

P.S. For a sense of scale, the mat window is about 10 x 14.

Better than I could do.

Verrrrry nice.

Two questions:

1. Lookin' for a job in the frozen north?

2. Can I steal your design?

I'm glad you like it, and steal away. I'm at work now, so here are the numbers:

Nurre Caxton # 65301
Bainbridge #4412 outer mat
Crescent #1601 second mat
LJ fillet #100173
Bainbridge # 8674 inner mat

I was pretty close with my guess from home. The mat opening is
10 1/4 x 13. Total mat widths are 4 1/4 top and sides, 4 1/2 bottom.
Showed 5/32" of pink mat and 11/16ths of inner mat. I know you don't
need the exact sizes, but thought it might give an idea. To make the 32nds
easy for myself, if I design one, I just put a little plus next to the 16ths
number, then I use a little decimal cheat sheet by the Wizard.

Shayla, this is gorgeous.
And I am totally going to steal that idea with the pale pink mat. Wow! That is just the touch that takes this piece to the nth level. Plus, it functions as a nice nod to the fifties feel as well.
This is how custom framing SHOULD be.
BEAUTIFUL.

This tends to be my style with framing. Just classic, simple designs. Not to many bells and
whistles, but I try to enhance the artwork in a good way.

I have another thread in Warped about a little girl practicing her signature over and over before
signing her artwork. I had been so pleased with this wedding job that I kept it out for show & tell.
When that little girl and her mom came in, the mother was admiring the framing. I told her when
it was from the 1950's, and when she saw our customer's name, she said, "I know Barbara! She's
my friend. And I know her mother, (the bride) too. She's just a wonderful lady! Such a fine person."

When my customer came in to pick up, she was thrilled with the framing. I told her that her friend
had been in and said those nice things about she & her mother, and there were smiles all around.

Yay!

It is lovely, Shayla. Simple, yet elegant, and I think that bit of pink mat showing is a great idea. Thanks for sharing.

It's so easy to overpower an image like this, whether with colors so rich that they make
it look faded, or with too many design elements. By keeping the colors soft, I was able
to sneak in a few layers without detracting. I love it when mat and moulding companies
come up with things that work with old photographs. Soft pencil drawings, too.

THIS, THIS, is STUNNING work....why our industry canNOT die. Thank you for sharing!!! And thanks Edi-the-amazing-goddess for bringing to my attention.

Just came here, late at night, before hitting my pillow, and I'm so glad that you like the design.
I'm not a 'bells & whistles' kind of designer, but like to find just the right colors and frame for
every piece. I enjoy being able to make art look timeless in a good way.

This frame is Nurre Caxton, and if you haven't seen it, the new Eleganza line from Roma
is also wonderful. A perfect balance of simplicity, detail and color.

Tylenol PM kicking in. Over and ou.....

Wow Shayla, that is very beautiful indeed, understated and totally elegant. For me the this is far from simple, but because it's all so subtle it works like a dream! :)

Nice tight design! I'm glad to see the "Picture Frame Design" section come to life. As a rookie framer, I love to check out all the various styles. Thanks for sharing!
