1930's print/etching glued to old chip board

Seems when I get 'em, I get 'em!! Have this interesting and very detailed etching from the 30s that the artist himself (as it appears) glued onto a heavy duty chip board....

Would you suggest leaving it on that or risking damage with any form of adhesive removal? Even though it is not archival - and certainly wasnt'!!

Hi Roz,

Suggest that the owner take it to a conservator - they can give the owner a "risk/benefit analysis" re a backing removal.
AIC has a conservation referral system - type in American Institure for Conservation, and there will be a link on the home page.
