Any advice on framing a 1876 centennial flag? It's cotton (I'm pretty sure) and in very fragile condition. I was thinking of a DCO mount on a fabric covered backing. The chop size is 47 x 34 and I was also wondering what thickness Optium to recommend (I was thinking 4.5mm or even 6mm but the prices are crazy). I'm concerned the acrylic will bow if it's too thin.

Well, if you have to frame that fragile old flag, I'd say you're on the right track. Yes, thicker Museum Optium Acrylic would be better. I'd use 6 mm in that large size, since the DCO assembly's batting imposes pressure from the inside.
