10 most annoying Windoze programs!

I was thinking that here's another stupid internet list.

However, I have to agree with everything except Outlook. While it's not the ideal client, it does, in fact, support threaded conversation view. You just need to know that going to View -> Arrange By -> Conversation is the way to turn it on. (yeah, it too me 5 years to find that)

Actually the article mentions them as most "annoying programs on the Internet"...what do they have to do with Windows, beside running under Windows?

And Apple is listed too...LOL

The only application that is made by Microsoft and comes with Windows is Outlook.
I do agree that many are annoying, a lot, though.

#1: Adobe Reader

#2: Apple

#3: Windows Update

#4: RealPlayer

#5: Java

#6: Yahoo

#7: Norton Antivirus
.
#8: Preinstalled software bundles
.
#9: Outlook/Exchange

#10: Flash

...what do they have to do with Windows, beside running under Windows?

Everyone knows that any faulty, malfunctioning, or poorly designed software or hardware that runs on windows is the sole fault of Microsoft.

Since switching to the NT lineage of windows OS', I have found that the OS itself is very solid unless otherwise compromised. Usually it's bad drivers, bad hardware, or bad software that keeps causing people's problems. But when something goes wrong, it's hard to immediately tell that it's your value RAM that is bad and people just curse MS out of habit.

I probably should have titled the topic - "TechRepublic's ten most annoying programs"
My apologies for that mistake!

PS. Nine of them run on Windoze and most of those nine annoy the $#@& out of me!

Well, I dumped:

Adobe Reader in favor of FoxitReader (PDF reader addon for FireFox)
Yahoo in favor of Gmail
Real Player in favor of Winamp
Norton (haven't touched it in 10 years!) in favor of Kaspersky
Outlook (in favor of Gmail Manager)
And AdBlock from FireFox blocks all the imbecile ads run by Flash!!

I agree 100% about the updates thingy. Recently when I was going away I left the last thing I did was shut down the PC.

.....Windows is installing updates.....do not disconnect the power, blah,blah.....

Well I had 300 miles to drive to catch a ferry and the roads were bad so I janked to plug. When I started it up later it went into a right sulk. Crashing , freezing.....So next time I went away I left it to shut down on it's own. Three weeks later went I returned it still hadn't shut down and had to jank the plug again to start it. Been crashing regulary ever since.

I would never choose to install updates normally.
Two of my fav sayings......

"The better is the enemy of the good"

"If it ain't broke, don't mend it"
