I wonder if I am missing something that is right in front of me, but when searching the Larson Juhl, Framers Inventory, Jayeness price sheets I can not fine 1/8" black foam board.

Is it even made?

Only if you leave it in the press to long :)

There are a number of companies that make black foamcore but, as Jeanette said, they only make 3/16" as far as I know.

If you really really have to have 1/8" black foamcore and nothing else will work, you can make do by placing full sheet of 3/16" black foamcore in a heat/vacuum press at about 160 degrees for about 2 minutes and you will get a close approximation to a sheet of 1/8" black foamcore. The combination of heat and vacuum will soften the foam center and constrict the board to approximately 1/8". You might want to put some 1" wide strips of 1/8" scrap foamcore around the edges of the board so the bladder of the press doesn't round off the edges of the board.

Really.

Try it.

I've never been able to find it either. You can use an 8 ply black mat board though.

I just checked the online price list of my distributor to see if it was gone, but it's still listed there.

Bainbridge Artcare black foam is listed as coming in 1/8" and 3/16".

And it's also listed in my 2007 Bainbridge specifier.

I know I've bought it before, but with everyone saying it only comes 3/16", it makes me feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone. Unless you meant only regular foam and not acid free.
