Opinions Wanted 1/4 MASONITE IN MY DMT PRESS

In all my 12 years with my Vacu Seal Press I've never had this request to adhere print guard to a piece that has already been put on 1/4 inch masonite and I'm concerned it may damage the bladder in the press. Are my concerns warranted or am I safe in doing this?

I've done it with no problems. I have 40x60 inch release boards in my press, so I just put the masonite between the two board and turned on the press. Had to increase the dwell time but lowered the pressure a tad.
 
Thanks Mik. I considered doing the same thing, but wanted some one to validate my idea before I damaged the old gal before her time.
