New to the forum here, looking for some advice or ideas on tearout reduction.
We are currently using a Universal Machinery double mitre cutting system and are seeing a significant amount of tear out on most frame mouldings. We primarily use Arquati and Larson Juhl moulding.
We moved to a new building location (better visability) and this saw is not coming over with us. it cuts great recently sharpened blades, and our volume of work is low so it has not been heavily ran. $2500.

In the old days we used a chopper for most of our production. We used a CTD double miter for all heavy duty and compo mouldings.
We stopped using the Morso chopper and sold it since space was an issue many years ago.

Just got a new saw, and I'm already finding its weaknesses. Any moulding with a moderate gesso coating will chip out at the top back corner; no matter if it's a cheapo matte black or nice water gilded profile. Slowing down the blade travel seems to help some, but doesn't fix the problem...
