I'm wondering if anyone can reccomend a source for large archival (preferably rag) mat boards. I'm talking bigger than 40 x 60. I know bainbridege makes a 48 x 96 and crescent has at least the 48 x 72 incher. I'm have a customer who does large pieces for public spaces and will be in need of some reasonbly priced but quality stuff. I'm on the east coast. Thanks!

Are you saying you need larger than 48X96?

How about using liners instead of mats? So much easier!

    Kirsten,

LJ carries the Crescent Museum 48x72 - C2263. Their truck delivery solves the cost of oversize shipping.

Rising makes a 60x 102 sized rag mat board. Pretty much the raw piece out of the press.

Rising makes board up to (maybe larger) 60 x 104. SmallCorp may still have some in stock.

I don't think that all what you want are going to be available. Large, good, and reasonably priced don't often hang out together.

Bainbridge also makes 48x72 (8661), 48x96 (8662), which I can get from regional suppliers on special order, but I have to buy a case (10 sheets), but it is delivered.

I find the Rising and Bainbridge boards much easier to handle than the Crescent which are softer and bend more readily.

    Wally,

The Crescent 48x72 4-ply is characterized as extra rigid - not the same as their 40x60's.
