We provide the best frames available for your pictures, paintings, ..........

Hi There,

You've posted your message in a forum for Picture Framers.

Virtually everyone here already makes the best frames available, or so we all think.:)

Your marketing message is a bit off target but welcome anyway.

Introduce yourself and your business and post a framing issue or help us solve a framing issue.

Doug

Umm? Name such a project? I don't turn away things easily, nor do most professionals so am curious what kind of projects you mean

Framing businesses all turn away jobs that provide no profit or it would just be a hobby. :D

Once in a while, we have a customer bring in a piece that is already framed in an IKEA frame or a Target frame and it needs a repair.
We can fix it and there is not a lot of profit in this.
So, we do it and guess what?

A few weeks later or a month later or 6 months later, that customer brings in a framing job for $600 or $800.
Not only that, they tell their friends about us and the friends also bring in some framing.
Almost every new customer I deal with tells me that they came to us because we have over 20 out of 20 five star reviews or they have a friend who recommended us.

Sometimes giving a little can get you a lot.;)

Yes it can!
We do the same thing! Several times it is a repair sent to us from the local Hobby Lobby.....I love HL, the older framer there sends us everything they won't / can't do and repairs (I don't compete for dorm room poster frames like Michael & his brothers). It works out well and we have repeat appreciative customers.

Riding the tangent here. I agree building relationships with customers is important. I've made good customers out of people who just need a set of hangers, or a fitting job. And I stay happily busy with projects that confuse/scare other frame shops.

However there are those nightmare jobs involving 40 x 60 museum glass that can quickly turn to mush. Or a personality type that will never be pleased.
