Do ya think this might work?

I have these 3 canvases that I stretched 6 years ago. Yes, 6. I've called the customer a few times and talked to them, but no pick up yet.

I thought I would send this postcard as a last resort. I took a photo of their canvases and printed it on a large index card. I thought I would try to make it cute and funny, if that helps any.

It couldn't hurt. I have used humor in reminder notices before, and it did help.

The right kind of contact, with a good sense of humor. If the work is already paid for, you might also mention that, so someone doesn't think they still owe on it.

The big reason I would like it picked up is that I didn't take any deposit on it. Back then, I only took deposits about half the time. I'm much better now.

I'd be there in a minute if they were mine. We sometimes email a picture of the finished piece. It works. Customer usually comes in quickly.

It's worth a try - I have had all kinds of things left behind, and my wife calls the owners from time to time and updates by googling for forwarding addresses, etc. Especially to a dentist, who promises to pick up his diploma. I would think he would want it. She offered to drop it off at his office. He says he will come and pick it up himself - we are still waiting. I tell her it is the like the dry cleaners - they have shirts no one picks up. Our local funeral director told her his problem is far greater - he has people from the previous director that no one picked up. I'll keep the diploma any day. We also charge the price that is on the slip from whatever year it was written - so it is an added bonus for picking up the forgotten treasure. One woman was so happy receiving 1972 prices in 2014 because it took that long to track her down.

Thinking back to adolescence, I never found any pick-up lines that worked, either.

With that handwriting, I'd almost say send a "ransom" note. "BRING $184 IN UNMARKED BILLS TO JOES FRAME EMPORIUM"

If I were trying to entice someone to pick something up, I wouldn't play the "we miss you" card. I play the "these look amazing" card.

If you have photoshop skills, superimpose the image of those over a sofa wall. They might remember their original plan for the artwork when they see it hanging and re-ignite their interest in getting them back.
