Link to movie that opened today: "Cold In July"... a story about your typical Texas picture framer.

This is an IFC (Indie film) so I think it's most likely to be found at a theater that regularly shows indie films.
I have yet to see it... but I will when the opportunity presents.

It's based on a book written by Joe Lansdale an old friend since college days. He and his family still reside here.
A few years back, another one of his stories was made into a movie: "Bubba Ho-tep" a fun movie definitely worth seeing!

Two other films where picture framers & shops were prominent:
Breathing Lessons based on the book by Anne Tyler. The protagonist's husband is a picture framer.
Stolen Kisses by Francoise Truffaut. The frame shop in this one is a bit more primitive though many of us would love to work there.

Cold In July should be out soon. It's not about a framer but it is an indie based on a Lansdale book. He's having a good year.

Dexter Does Dallas

Actually the setting for the movie is East Texas; however, it was filmed in New York state (because it was more convenient/cost effective for the film maker and crew)!

If you aren't from Texas, all thing Texas look alike. And you have to squint to see them, they're all so small. :p
