can anyone give me information about their current point of sale hardware and software. I am trying to price the potential need for such a system to evaluate my startup costs. I currently frame at home but I am trying to open a store. Maybe there will be some vendors in Atlanta for these machines.
Thanks,

There certainly will be. Set aside several hours to hit some of the vendors. Most programs offer the basics plus some. Make a list of what you are looking for before you go. I don't care where or how you frame... framing software is crucial. It's a time saver and will get you in the groove prior to opening a retail space, if that is the direction you eventually choose.

Joe,
I think there will be a vendor sponsored class at Atlanta talking about the different cost effective aspects of POS software. Though sponsored by a vendor, the information provided can be applied to almost any software package.

Joe,
Remember, like any other software, they all have their strengths and weaknesses. We use Lifesaver, does the trick for us. It is weak on the art/gallery side of things. Hardware is a separate issue altogether. I can help you there, easy. If you are going to Atlanta check out the programs and decide which software package best fits your needs. Then we can talk hardware.
