This is just a reminder that when making an agreement to purchase items from the classifieds of this forum be sure you know who you are dealing with. Don't be lulled into the "good guy" picture framer scenario unless you know them. As you might of guessed by now I had a deal go sour on me but whats $100 in these prosperous times. Be careful, you might be dealing with someone that can"t keep their word. Peace, Mike

Mike, I think if you had a purchase go sour from the classified here on the G, that it is appropriate to name, names so that others might not also fall victim.

We also have the sub-forum where it is appropriate to recommend the good guys.

I would pm one of the moderators directly. It might be good to know who you purchased from and what went wrong, but would check with them first to make sure if you should post.

Sorry this happened to you.

I remember buying a CMC from a really nice Grumbler not too long ago.

It was a good buy and a good experience.

Hey Mike.....IDEA!
You and me- we could swing by and get Mikki, then head over to NC to get Jerry while having some good BBQ on the way.
Then we will go get your money back??? : )
Luddite may even make a sculpture for us to commemorate the event!

Thanks for all of the responses. I am not going to mention any names because there is a chance the seller is sending my money back. We started the move this past weekend (thanks for the help Steven) and we will hit it hard this upcoming weekend. As far as a collections road trip, Steven and I would have that $100 spent on BBQ before we crossed the Tenn. state line. Peace, Mike

Mike....the only way we could spend $100 on BBQ between here and the TN state line is to detour through E Town and Owensboro unless you know a place I do not...........
Now between Mikki and Jerry.......Yep.......we would be spending way more than $100 on BBQ. That area would have to be the greatest BBQ area on earth.

Wait wait pick me up then the BBQ can start! with sweet tea and fried ocra! does that have an H in it?

Had a lady price an old manual oval cutter to me for $13,00.00 today. I told her those dinosaurs get "0" bids on e-bay so let me know. Holding my breath! NOT!!! LOL

If I could get Gritzco to make a shop call I bet he could tweak mine to work better. Holding out for a CMC awhile longer.

Mike you gotta possie (posse, possy,) ok GANG when you need it!!!!!

Mikki I did not know you did not have a CMC.

It would be amazing what you could do with one of those.

Yeah amazing what a computer meltdown I could cause!!!! The entire grid would go down! My lap top does such nutty things no one says it could do that I could see the cutter head coming loosefrom a CMC and terrorizing the neighborhood! I probally should have ponied up and bought the one Mike had but I'm SKEERED!!

Now about that BBQ road trip!!!

I can get American BBQ (chain was Dickies) to cater our lunch on Sunday here. They have a selection of meats, chicken, beef, pork, sausages and turkey.
The locally owned one I can check on but honestly his sides are not great.
I will check in with Mike and Letha.

The Dickie's here has some great beef brisket. The pork and chicken is just ho hum.

The sides are excellent.

IN NC, BBQ is pork. And theirs just don't make the cut.

Of course we are in an area where BBQ is king with a lot of competition.
