Grumblers -

I always tell people that I would rather be out selling frames and eating, instead of painting pictures and starving. I've spent the last five years of my life framing pictures and taking care of "business" at my gallery. However, drawing and painting are my real passions - Art is what makes me feel alive!

There has been nothing more satisfying than watching my frameshop grow to the point where I am now ready to start making art a part of my life again.

I recently launched a new art website: www.mattsart.com

I am looking to partner with frameshops, galleries and art reps in the Chicagoland area. I offer wholesale pricing on my art to those who qualify.

Please contact me at matt@mattsart.com if you are interested or know of anyone who might be able to help me out - All feedback is welcome.

Thanks!

Good luck! Glad you're going for it, as various people have reminded us over the centures: if you ignore your bliss, you have lost your soul.

Hi Matt, I went and looked at your site. Thanks for telling us about it!

My favorites are "Winter Water Tower" and "A New Day". They're all good, it's just that I have fun choosing my very own favorites. You seem to have a good sense of what works for you as an artist, and your vibrant style is appealingly fresh. As you move through your creative life, I hope you remember to stay true to what satisfies and challenges you personally in art. It's so easy to change your approach because of what you think other people want, and that does have its place. But if you have a strong enough command of art, it's always good to stay with what you find most fulfilling. As you look back on your life in later years, you'll be glad you did.

I was surprised to see what a young, good-looking guy you are after reading about the successful frame shop you started. Ha ha, as if only old ugly guys could pull off such a feat. Here's a wish for much success in your life as an artist. :icon21:
