Wow. You sound really upset. You should include more information in your profile so that the above mentioned companies know what geographical territory you are in.

Have you contacted your sales rep as about this? Believe it or not they do listen and it does get passed on.

Hey Acap! These are 3 of my 4 best suppliers and although they do at times have an item on backorder, they have been really great about getting it from another location (they paid the freight) or giving us Real-time due date information to relay to a retail customer. Is your comment a Real complaint or are y just trying to stir the pot.

Greg, I can only comment on LJ, but I too, have had out-of-stock problems as recently as a couple of weeks ago, on their mid-sized Manhattan moulding which was o/s in ALL their locations. I finally got the opne I ordered three weeks ago this morning.

Add AMPF to the list of out-of-stock problem vendors.

I have noticed on the last couple of thread about suppliers that there are some shops have nothing bad to say about them and others are very unhappy could this be the happy customers are the larger shops and the unhappy are smaller shops or homebase. This may answer why we can't agree on the quality of service that one gets

As a small shop that does 90% LaMarche I can state that in 7 months 6500+ (a guess) feet bought, 2 items have been out of stock, one for a month the other about 3 months. I never seen a company with fewer problems.

Smily, It seems more logical to me that a larger shop would have more problems than a smaller shop, just for the fact they receive more merchandise and there is more chance for something to go wrong. I have a friend in the business who does less volume than I, and she has just as many problems. The main difference is, I get mine solved easier because I am bigger, and probably more valuable to the vendors. Out of stocks are a big problem when you have sold the customer a Roma or LaMarche. Their mouldings are so unusual it is difficult, if not impossible, to substitute something else. Basic stuff can easily be subbed.

Problem is further compounded when client does not have two months to wait (corporate presentations, funeral memorials, etc).

I vote that once a topic has been brought up, you should not be able to remove it. There is no point in continuing on with this thread. It makes everyone else look like they are just going on about nothing!
