I'm trying to get a schedule together for my gallery for January/February events and we are talking about having art classes.
We sell and show local art as well as custom framing
I have been approached by many people that are interested in art classes-Watercolor, Acrylic, Oil, Drawing etc...... We have nothing like this anywhere near here. One of the biggest parts for opening the gallery and frame shop was to get Kids and Adults involved in art though the classes.
I definately have the space- And the teachers....

My question is........ What % is fair to ask of the instructors? How should we go about the advertising? Split costs?
If anyone has experience with this I would greatly appreciate your help!

Just a thought of a somewhat similar arrangement.

In my younger days, I taught private guitar lessons thru the local music stores. We (instructors) paid 20% per private lesson cost to the store for use of facility. The store benefited by sales/rental of insturments and supplies.

We do art classes of all kinds.
Watercolor, drawing, acrylics, airbrushing, and anything else a artist would like to bring to the tables.
we also are gallery, Tea room, framing, art supplies.
I ask for a 20% commission for all sign-ups and artists have no problem. We also get the sale of art supplies and the framing of the project peice and first dibs for the gallery on any up and coming artist.
Win,Win,Win.
