I am framing a mirror for a customer with the moulding that looks like plaster with brick showing through(for anyone familiar with this company). Does anyone have any tips or advice for the corners where the pattern does not match up? I have colored the edges, applied putty, but some spots are 1/4" higher than the other side. It's just not quite up to my quality standards.
thanks.

I have used their chop service for this moulding. They have done a great job for me.

The chop is great, I did not mean to imply designer did a poor job. that is not the case at all.
I just was wondering if anyone had fooled around with matching the join a little more.

The things you mentioned trying are additive. Have you tried subtractive....grinding/shaving down the offending high spots? Sometimes you need to do both to get em to look right.

That's what I would do. Get out the dremel with a small sanding spindle and grind away. Then get out my wife's acrylic paints to color back in the bare spots.

Practice on the sample.

Sorry, it might be obvious but I have gotten ahead of myself on occasion and attacked the actual frame before playing with the sample.

Tessa, instead of a Dremmel, I just use an emery board and acrylic paints on those. Easier for me not to grind down too far.... oops. Don't ask how I know that.:p
