I'm looking for a wall mounted glass cutter & my question is; what is the differences between a C&H advantage G60 and a fletcher 3000 beside the price? Do they both do a good job cutting glass? Can you get parts for both? I own a stained glass studio in Jacksonville, NC and all I will be using it for is to cut glass.
Thanks,
Marty

Marty I have the 3000 and I also do art glass and it works well, the only thing is if you are trying to cut small strips, say 2", your scale will not show it. Also anything less than about 2" and it is under the bars so a little hard to position a stop there for receptive cuts. You can cut off strips of about 1/8" with picture framing glass. Art glass is a little tougher because of texture and thickness as you know.
Fletcher parts for a 3000 should be avail. for many years to come as it is the current workhorse for the framing industry.

j Paul,
Have you used a C&H? If you have, is the quality the same?
Thanks,
Marty

I've been using the Fletcher 3000 and its predeccessor for almost 28 years. They're next to impossible to kill, easy to calibrate and simply the best I've come across. I'd never hesitate to recommend one.

Sorry, I can't even say I have ever seen the C&H in person.

j Paul,
I keep a 6" block by the cutter - set the stop to 6" + the small dimension - Voila!

They are both good machines, I have used a C&H G60, Fletcher 3100 and 3000. I use the Fletcher 3000 for ease and speed. I love it...
A lot more fun than a T-Square and a glass cutter...

It's an excellent machine, and by far the best seller in it's category. Fletcher has probably 90% of the multi-material cutter market and for good reason.
We use them at the schools and they've always been trouble free.
