Hi everyone,
We're new to the Grumble and we're hoping to get some advice. We have a customer who bought one of Elton John's suits at auction and wants to frame it for her husband as a surprise gift. Although we've done many other shadow boxes this is our first suit and we're not sure what the best way to mount it is. Have any of you used the acrylic hangers? We thought about using a nice wooden hanger but were concerned about conservation issues with that. We would appreciate any ideas or advice you might have!

how's it hangin

I'v used a company call Sparta craft (www.spartacraft.com )for hockey and football uniforms. it's a wood shadow box frame in which the front door hinges open and there is a wooden hanger mounted at the top. Just hang the item and your all set.
No assembling required # 1-800-282-8044
Great people to deal with
Good luck

How about a store mannequin and a really large plexi box? ;) Just kidding.

I've used spartacraft too. I like their products, but the problem I can see is if this is a Christmas gift, there is no way they are going to get you one in time. Otherwise, it's a good way to go. No fuss, no muss, pure profit.

If it is for Christmas, I think an acrylic hanger and a box frame is what I'd do. Definitely do no harm to it. (ie. stitching, tacking, etc.)

SpartaCraft sounds like the way to go.

Just glueing the rhinestones on the frame is going to take until Christmas.
