This will be the 2nd post today---the 1st one just ...disappeared.......

I got LSS and am begining the spinnup of learning its in/outs so I appologise, now, for all future questions(dumb & otherwise)(I only have 73 at this point, but the list IS growing) that I dont find via thread search.
I want a 24x36 finished frame, 1 mat, 2 windows(1=10x13, 2=11x12), fillets around both windows. I am aware of the extra charge for more than 1 window but cant figure how to account for 2 windows & fillets when there is only the image/finished sizes to deal with. From what is available on the entry screen I infer that it will use the frame/mat width dimensions for the fillet(s)???? So, there is no apparent(to me) means of telling it about the 2 fillet(s) and it can only assume that I want fillets at the edge of the large mat opening(with supplied 2" reveal) which I donot want. so how can I handle this?
and how/where do I charge for the cutting/fitting of the 2 fillets(as opposed to not cutting/fitting fillets around 2 windows)?
I know I can call tech support, but they arent there now and "our" group actually deals with these situations daily and just must have better solutions!
Dont cha think?
thanks all.

Bill:

If I understand you correctly, the way I handle something like this as follows (and it is easier) than the reply implies:

I measure the width of both openings (say 10 + 14) and add the border between, (say 1 inch between the openings, vertically or horizontally) = 25.

Then I enter this as opening size, enter the frame #, then the fillet # in the next field (this will add the cost of the frame, then the cost of the fillet) and calculates the length needed for either.

Then you enter your borders (say 3 inches) then you proceed to the mat fields, and so forth.

You can do the same with any number of openings this way (say 12 openings).

Hope that helps.

PS: If the 2 windows are side by side, I measure as above, and measure the height of the bigger one, and enter those as opening sizes.

If 2 windows are one above the other, same procedure, add the height of each + the border between them to get the vertical opening size).

That's what I thought I needed to do---couldnt figure any other way to do it with 2 holes & 1 place to measure!

Now to complicate things, what if these 2 windows are above or below another which is a larger or smaller(doesnt matter) window? now have 3 windows on 2 levels to account for. Do you still take all the largest outside measure and use that?? if so how does the measurement come out in realtion to the "actual" measurement of fillets used on the job???
Just as importantly, where/how do you put in the extra charges for the cut/fit for the 3 filleted windows (it must be different/higher than the "standard" charge for cutting multiple windows, yes?)?

Bill:

Even if the windows are staggered vertically or horizontally, just place them next to each other, make one measurement, add the space between. and that'll do it.

Measurement comes out pretty close actually, to what you need to order / charge. Just test it a couple of times to make sure and adjust if needed.

You can always add additional costs under Include Misc. button.
