Just to clarify your post a bit, in case someone thinks these are USB Flash drives. They are memory sticks for some digital cameras and gaming systems (the WII, PS3, PSP, etc), equipped with a special slot to accomodate this card. If you have equipment that takes these memory sticks, it is a fantastic deal.

The USB type one might use to back up a POS are ALSO on sale today at Staples.

1GB USB Drive 3-pack (P-FD1GBX3ATT-MP) for a low $39.98 (Regular 99.99)

It is a good practice to have at least 6 drives if you are open 6 days per week(we are using 12 in our shop), and using this as part of your backup strategy. At this price, you can have a full backup solution for your POS - for $80, including shipping.

It is best to have multiple backup devices. Backing up to the same device/drive every day (external drive etc) is dangerous, because you may not realize you have a problem until a day later - and then you would be left with nothing. It is also important to remove the device from the PC when not in use (in case of power surge or theft), and a good idea to remove them from the shop after hours (fire, theft).
