Val, 1/2 hour might be tight, but don't worry, a few minutes won't matter. Probably have to take the monorail then walk. can take time to wait. like witing for a bus, depends on how lucky your timing is.
If I understand it right Andy and Fournier are coming but didn't take the poll? Right? I know Fournier didn't, but not so clear on Andy.

wellllll..., contacted the Paris again ... 15 maximum reservation, of course more individuals can come in after and join the party ... umm, ok,
... full price if there are no shows ... uh? ... 75% if the reservation is canceled ... uh? ... if all 15 aren't present at time of seating the reservation will be "released" and the Credit Card on file will be charged 50% of the total ... uh? ...
so, now I'm getting cold feet. I give them my CC for the reservation and they could wack me almost 900 bucks?!!
What do you think? just all show up? or do you think I should go ahead and make a reservation??
Mike Labbe @ GTP
January 10th, 2007, 08:35 PM
Lets just show up (maybe some of us early) and let the place deal with seating us together.

They just emailed me a two page form called "Group Restaurant Reservation Plocies and Procedures." I'm supposed to sign it and fax it back to them with my credit card.
Among other things it says "Large parties are limited to two hours. :kaffeetrinker_2: If your event goes beyond the two hour time limit the manager has the right to charge a room rental fee according to his or her discretion."
so, if we're hitting the buffet too hard, he wacks my credit card! I don't think so. OK, let's all just show up. I'll try to find a hat or something so everyone can find us. !!! :popc:

Is everyone just going to meet there or Hilton lobby @ some time and share a taxi ?
Just for those who have not had the experience.... there are 2 main cab routes from the Airport to the Hilton. Using last year's prices, one was in the $10 range and the other in the $20 range. It is illegal for them to use the longer route but many folks don't know that and get taken via the Interstate for the $20 tour. If you get the long route, just get the cab number and talk to the Bellman. There'll be a mediator there lickety-split. I learned the hard way and found out after it was too late.

We got taken for a ride too :) It was more than $20, if I recall.
For the buffet, I think we're meeting at the PARIS buffet itself (not the Hilton). The Tuesday night Chinese dinner DOES meet at the Hilton, however.
One way to get to the PARIS is to take the monorail. It has door to door service!

The Hilton told me there was a company called Bell Trans that runs between the hotels and the airport and their fee is something like $5.50 for the ride.
Does anyone have any experience with this company?

We used one of those transport companies one year. Never again. Wait time was excessive and it's not necessarily a non-stop trip to the airport.... as in, every hotel between you and the airport. It seems to take forever because of every stop and wait. The money saved wasn't worth the headache for us. It may not have been that same company because there are several that do it.
Mike, you're right... the year we took the long route was more than a year or two ago and I bet it's closer to $30 for the scenic, interstate route nowdays. Last year, I had one of the mediator guys driving the cab and told of the story and how he gets called several times a day to either take a license away or have money refunded.

It says here that the cab fee should be about $12.20 from the airport to the Hilton.

We had a great time, and sat in smaller groups than previous events. The buffet itself was excellent and had a nice variety.
Great time!
Here are a couple photos. The second isnt very clear.

Mike, I'm sure most everybody else knows who everybody is, but you could you please put a name with those faces?
I hate that I missed it. It sounds like it was waaaay better then the Atlanta show this past year. What do you think the difference was?
Also does anybody know this, I heard that in Vegas, you pay a flat fee and can attend as many classes as possible, and in Atlanta you have to pay for each class seperate. Is this true and is there any way that may change?

Jennifer, you may be thinking of the PPFA "Super Saver" @ $199 for as many classes as your brain can handle, morning buffetts, luncheons, and dinners.... about a $400 value.
March 7-11 in Vegas....
