I've posted about this before and am still having problems...
Sometimes get frayed bevels when i cut the rag on the machine. I have tried changing the blade after every cut in the mat window, i've changed the slip sheet. I dunno what is happening and it's driving me insane! i have heard that the board cannot have any moisture. i don't think they do. Changing the blade after every cut seems much also. is it? should i not use rag for a slip sheet? is there somethign i should be using? Should i be setting the blade to a different depth. This sound normal? I would appreciate any advice.

Make sure you have your blade in the right way. The beveled edge of the blade should face toward the inside of the opening.

No, you shouldn't have to change the blade after each cut.

I have the same problem with the same cutter. It also happens with bainbridge vellum matboards. I have tried EVERYTHING to solve this problem.

Michael,
Does this happen on EVERY Crescent rag board?
If it does, it has to be something with the blades. Bad batch, maybe? Order a new box and see what happens.
If it happens on just a few colors (like the toilet paper-textured whites- 1153) then toss the samples.
Make sure your blade isn't out too far, etc.

Edie, I was going to suggest pushing the blade out farther!

Sullivan I have the same prob with the vellums. And browns. Hate cutting them!

I am contemplating writing down the worst mats (ie 8463V!!!) to cut and then cutting them from the front! That way the ragged edge will be at the bottom, inside edge!

Way franken thread idea, in the Morso threads we are giving the tip of filling the gap with siliconeto alleviate chattered chops. Should we fill the gap on the 2200 with silicone to provide more support to the slip sheet? Is the gap too big in other words?
