I am surprised no Grumbler has posted a "Thank You" for getting the search button working.
Shall I be the first..... THANK YOU !
To all you American Grumblers, be grateful for this fantastic site. Framers in the UK have to live without a Grumble, unless they visit the USA or Australian site.

Keith,

While it is, of course, wonderful to have the search button at our disposal again, I am personally ambivalent. I had a lively little side-business going offering my services as the human search engine. Now I am out of work and will have to return to framing.

And may I say that I am thrilled to see a Grumbler from England. We do appreciate this forum and the hard work from Framer, our administrator. But we also appreciate the visitors and users from all over the world that help make this the interesting forum that it is. Did Dermot send you here, by any chance?

FROM A HUMBLE GRUMBLE !!

Ron, yes of course it was Dermot, the Grumble's
ambassador in Europe.

And now my apology! I have only just seen the other post about "New Server", so my post was quite unescessary. You have to make allowances for the English (and the Irish!) we are sometimes
a bit slow, but we always get there in the end.

Now if only I could remember what all the things were that I wanted to search for when the function wasn't available...

Hi Keith - Welcome to the Grumble.

I must admit that I was in a state of withdrawl when the Search feature was removed. But the new one was well worth the wait. :D It's excellent! Thank you so much!

Framer,
You are the greatest! As a fairly new member, I came online after the old search function quit. Boy, that search button is wonderful!

Thanks for all the hard work,
Leslie S.

Now that we have a working search function on The Grumble, could I offer a suggestion?

I'm going to anyway.

When we are posting a new topic, we need to think about how useful the topic title is going to be when it turns up in future searches. When you conduct a search, you are presented with a list of topics that contain the search word(s). From the list (which may be VERY long,) you open the ones that look promising. A title like "Need Help!!!" or "Question for Grumblers" is not going to be nearly as useful as "How can I frame a dead cat to C/P standards?" or "Looking for Source for Coroplast."

P.S. May I also suggest that the title NOT contain the phrase "Larson-Juhl" or "L-J?"
